Bill Schneider has spent fifty years hiking the trails of Montana. After spending ten years editing the Montana Outdoors magazine, he left the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks and co-founded Falcon Publishing in 1979. Since then, he has written twenty-three books and hundreds of articles on wildlife management, outdoor recreation, and environmental issues. Nowadays, Bill lives in Helena, Montana, with his wife, Marnie, and spends most of his time hiking, bicycling, and fishing. Among his recent books is the acclaimed Where the Grizzly Walks (Globe Pequot, 2003).
