Sylvan Peak started as a small company that made clothing! Mary Ellen created wild tights, and fleece kids clothing, and when construction outgrew her house, she moved from Wyoming to a storefront in downtown Red Lodge. Within a year, she outgrew the tiny store (where Sisters on Broadway is now), and moved to our current spot at 9 South Broadway, officially 1992 years ago. Over the years we have slowly moved to what we are today, a Mountain Shoppe with clothing, yes, but soooooo much more too. We still make some of the favorites, like baby booties and fleece tights, AP nylon shorts, and polar pants. Mary Ellen, at 85, is still heading up the Fancy Pants/Sylvan Peak creations! The first triangle logo was quickly hand-drawn and printed, after realizing a quick need for a visible logo. What started as an afterthought, and created literally on a napkin sitting at dinner at Bogart's, this triangle logo has become a true mark of Sylvan Peak over the years. For 2025, we’ve brought back the original logo, and spruced it up a bit!
